It is commonly thought that cats hate water… Have you ever wondered why?
Being order sensitive, a fear of water caused by bad experiences, and having waterlogged fur and are just a few reasons why cats may hate water.
Cats are very sensitive to different smells and want to be clean all of the time. If the water in your house has any smells (I.e. chemicals in the water) your cat will not want to have a bath or get covered in the sent that is not it’s own.
“Many cats’ experiences with water are not positive—being stuck in a downpour without shelter, being sprayed with water, and forced baths are a few examples—so it’s understandable why many cats do not like water.”

Since cats are ao particular about the state of there fur having there fur soaked is very uncomfortable for them, instead, a cat prefers warm water and there own natural cleaning mechanisms to ours of having a bath. Cats have a higher body temperature than humans, because of this cats get cold when having a bath in “Human Temperature” water.
