Kitchener-Waterloo loves more than spending time with their pets – it’s celebrating the holidays together with their pets. Here are our top five fun local events and things to do with your pets for the holidays!

1. Pet Photos with Santa at Conestoga Mall and Fairview Park Mall

Both of our local malls are offering pet photos with Santa once again! Conestoga Mall will be letting families in with their pets on December 8th from 6:30PM to 8:00PM, while Fairview Park Mall will be welcoming your furry companions on December 8th by appointment. Both malls feature some beautiful Christmas setups every year, so make sure you get in while you can!

2. Gift of Lights at Bingeman’s

A dazzling show of light and spectacle, Gift of Lights features two tunnels of holiday light displays. This family-friendly event runs from November 16th to January 4th. While you would normally drive through the tunnels, January 4th is their “walk only” event, and dogs on leashes are welcomed to the party! As an added bonus, the walk will be in support of the Grand River Hospital Foundation. 

3. Christkindl Market in Downtown Kitchener

The Christkindl Market at Kitchener City Hall has been an annual event since 1997, and will run this year from December 5th to December 8th. While dogs won’t be able to go into the City Hall, they are more than welcome to visit the outdoor vendors along King Street and Carl Zehr Square. With food and music a-plenty, this is an event the entire family can enjoy.

4. Waterloo Park Night Walk

As Christmas is just around the corner, Waterloo Park is now decked out with decorations and lights that look fantastic at night. If your pooch isn’t quite ready for the crowds, but needs a change of scenery, Waterloo Park is the perfect place to be – just bring some hot chocolate, your winter gear, and your glow collars!

5. Uptown Waterloo Tree Lighting Ceremony

A celebration of Christmas and Uptown Waterloo, the Tree Lighting Ceremony is a great way to kick off the holiday cheer! A ton of stores will be hosting special events from December 6th – 8th; think raffles, giveaways, Candy Cane Lane, and more! Best of all, your pet will get a chance to visit Santa Paws himself!
