Taffy's Legacy Adoptable of the Month of May - Dog Gone Walking & Cat Care, Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario

Dog Gone Walking is proud to be partnering with Taffy’s Legacy, a local dog rescue, to match adoptable dogs with their perfect human. Over the years, we have seen the love and joy that rescues can bring to everyone around them, and we firmly believe that all dogs deserve a home to call their own. We hope that this partnership with Taffy’s Legacy will bring us one step closer to finding every dog their furever family.

This month, we want to introduce you to Diadora a spunky, fun loving 12 year old shepherd mix and our May Adoptable of the Month!

Diadora is a 12 year old shepherd mix, but don’t let her age fool you! This girl is full of spunk, and loves to be silly with her people! Diadora loves all people, but isn’t as comfortable around other dogs, particularly higher energy dogs. She could live with a calm and respectful dog – like her current foster sister!- but prefers to not meet other dogs on walks, and you can forget about cats! Diadora is good on leash, but can be reactive towards dogs on walks and is looking for a strong handler who can advocate for her, and remind dog owners to give her space.

Diadora’s foster mom says:
“Diadora is super sweet with her people once she knows and trusts them. She just wants to be near you and will whine if you don’t pay enough attention to her. Her love for other animals is very selective though. She’s great with her doggy foster sister and could live with a submissive calm sibling. But her adopters will need to be comfortable working on her reactivity on walks. We go for 3 walks a day and manage her reactivity with a soft muzzle and avoid close interactions with other dogs.

Diadora is perfect in the house, aside from her excited barking when you get home from work and it’s walkies time! She knows her basic commands and will do anything for a treat! She loves to play with toys and play tug with us and her foster sister- she’s a very strong 12-year-old! You wouldn’t guess her age by looking at her. She loves to go on walks and has no problem jumping into the car but can be a little sore after a long hike. She loves a good nap after her walks! She’s looking for a retirement home and hopes someone can look past her quirks as she’s pretty perfect inside the house and has lots of love to give! “
