Taffy’s Legacy Adoptable of the Month of August

Dog Gone Walking is proud to be partnering with Taffy’s Legacy, a local dog rescue, to match adoptable dogs with their perfect human. Over the years, we have seen the love and joy that rescues can bring to everyone around them, and we firmly believe that all dogs deserve a home to call their own. We hope that this partnership with Taffy’s Legacy will bring us one step closer to finding every dog their furever family.

Introducing, Tidal a 2 year old mastiff mix (85lbs) looking for a home with power breed or behavioural experience that will continue his training so he can be on his best behaviour.

Tidal needs a confident owner, as he can be pushy and stubborn if he thinks he can get away with it! Once Tidal understands the rules and boundaries of the house, Tidal will be man’s best friend and enjoys big high energy outdoor adventures, and lazy indoor snuggles with his people. Tidal is very smart and loves doing training, but can also is smart enough to get into things if he has an opportunity to.  Tidal is good on leash, but needs reminders to focus on his people and not small dogs on walks. Tidal is good with other dogs, but has a big pushy play style so not all other dogs appreciate him. He would do best in a home without small animals.
85lbs
Good with confident dogs.
No cats.
Older kids – needs parents with power breed experience

Here’s what Tidal’s foster mom has to say about him.

“Tidal is a very active 2-year-old mastiff mix. He is a typical pushy bully breed that would benefit going to a home with bully breed experience. He is very strong and will try to muscle himself around if he gets away with it. While Tidal is generally very well behaved, he is still working on some manners including not jumping up to sneak treats, no zoomies, and not being reactive towards squirrels/cats/small dogs on leash.

Tidal is good with people and good with his foster brothers. He takes corrections well and strives in a home with a lot of structure. He likes calm attention but generally is more interested in napping and chewing his bone/playing with his doggie siblings than interacting with people, although after a few months he has started showing interest in snuggles when he is really sleepy at night. He loves obedience training and working for his food, he’s fantastic in the car, and he’s very well behaved with his routine. He really is a big playful goof, although sometimes playtime turns into inappropriate zoomies!”
