With all this rainy, cold weather lately, I thought it would be suitable to have an article that tells some fun tales about dogs and their funny moments. I hope some of these stories make you smile, and maybe remind you of someone you know. Every animal has their own personality, and in spending time with them you get to know their quirks. These can be some of the most rewarding moments in being a pet owner. Please enjoy these tales from some of us at DGW!
The Missing Licence Plates
I once owned an Alaskan Malamute named Jukka, that was way too smart for her own good. She would give us stories to tell on a daily basis! For now, I’ll just give you one.
One day my landlord came home yelling at my roommate about how he must have hit a snowbank with his car because his licence plate was missing. They had a big argument for the next couple months about how my roommate wasn’t allowed to use our landlord’s car anymore because he was an irresponsible driver who couldn’t be trusted. My roommate argued that he didn’t do anything and said that my landlord was crazy. A few months go by, and my landlord got new license plates. One afternoon we came home and saw Jukka ripping off his licence plate like it was paper. When the snow started to melt, we found a graveyard of licence plates, most of which we had no idea of whom they belonged to. She had started a collection! From then on, everyone parked a fair distance away from Jukka.
A National Lampoons Christmas…Almost
One Christmas dinner my whole family was together ready to say grace before the big meal. We also had some furry guests with us, a litter of Shih Tzu puppies. They were still young, eyes open but not able to walk. Instead they wormed their way around the whelping box. We bowed our heads to say grace, when I hear a little “plop” sound. While everyones’ eyes were shut I opened mine to see a puppy had wormed his way out of the box. Trying to be polite, I didn’t want to move or interrupt grace. So I just kept an eye on him, hoping grace wouldn’t last too long this time. This puppy had other ideas. I looked over to see him make his way behind the TV and into the nest of chords lying there. I quickly left grace to rescue him, and hoped I didn’t make too much noise. When I stood, most of my family was giving me the eyes wondering what had happened. Luckily, Grandpa was one who didn’t see. The adventurous puppy lived to see many more Christmas’.
