Taffy’s Legacy Adoptable for the Month of November!
Dog Gone Walking is proud to be partnering with Taffy’s Legacy, a local dog rescue, to match adoptable dogs with their perfect human. Over the years, we have seen the love and joy that rescues can bring to everyone around them, and we firmly believe that all dogs deserve a home to call their own. We hope that this partnership with Taffy’s Legacy will bring us one step closer to finding every dog their furever family.
Squishy is a 1yo
Husky mix who has had a bit of a unusual first year. Squishy was hit by a car
around 8 months old and fractured both back legs, but he didn’t let that slow
him down! Now he is completely healed physically, but unfortunately was
recovering in isolation during a time where social development is very
important, and needs to work on his social skills outside on walks. He is
easily overstimulated by everything, and is working on focusing on his person
instead of whining as passing cars or dogs, and walking calmly beside his
person. Is he also pretty busy indoors, and needs reinforcement on what is
appropriate to chew on and what isn’t. Squishy is very food-motivated and loves
training, he is very affectionate with all people, and gets along with his dog
friends after a proper introduction.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
-Good with dogs
-Unknown with cats (we cat test our dogs prior to setting up meet and greets with potential adopters with cats)
-Unknown with kids (likely good — we set up interactions with children prior to placing a dog in a home with children)
-Med/High energy
-Good in crate (takes a few minutes to settle in)
-Needs work on leash (easily overstimulated & some leash reactivity but doing well in his loose leash walking training)
-Needs to work on socialization – rude on-leash greetings & needs proper introductions
-Very eager to please, very happy pup -Needs to work on manners (jumps up, chews everything, silly puppy antics).
