We hope this blog posts find our readers doing well! It has been a couple weeks of craziness, with COVID-19 causing rapid and sweeping changes across Canada. Many of you have reached out to us with offers of assistance and words of encouragement, and we’re grateful for the kindness that we’ve received from the community. Thank you!
On our end, we would like to provide you all with some quick updates from the past week. Ontario Premier Doug Ford recently ordered the closure of non-essential businesses in the province; as a business that provides for the health and welfare of animals, Dog Gone Walking and Cat Care will remain open as an essential business. We’re extremely thankful that we can continue providing care for our clients, and will do so while taking every precaution that we can to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (see our previous blog post here for more details).
You may also have heard that we recently started FREE DELIVERY of pet food and pet supplies to clients who are self-isolating! (conditions apply). We’re happy to say that orders of pet food from Creature Comfort at St. Jacob’s have been successfully delivered to people’s homes, with no physical contact between staff at Creature Comfort, staff at Dog Gone Walking, or our clients. We hope this can bring some peace of mind to those who are staying home. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you need any assistance!
And lastly, we hope we can bring a little joy to your day by sharing some emails that we’ve received from our clients:
Hello:
I would like to cancel the rest of Goose’s walks for the month of March. However, please charge me the full amount for each visit we are cancelling. I am sorry to do this, but I think it is best for everyone’s safety. I look forward to my invoice
Thank you for understanding,
Krista
Hi Mandy,
I hope you, your family and your Doggone family are all healthy and well. My employer has extended another week of office shutdown, so I will not return to the office until April 13th now – I have a feeling it will be extended again until the end of April. I would still like to help though by pre-paying so even if I don’t go back, I’d like to be invoiced for Charlie’s visits in April.
Tell Kieran, Charlie says ‘hi’.
Thank you for helping all the people that can’t work from home or who are isolated.
Nicole
Without their generosity, we would not be able to continue doing what we do. We know this will be a lean time for many, so we are deeply grateful to all of our clients.
